Xu Hui has been in the states for two months now and she is amazing. They talk about how fast kids adjust and she really has. She is picking up more and more English every day. She continues to love school and has Parker wrapped around her little finger. She could get him to do anything for her. He is so cute. Almost every day he will ask me if he can give something to her.
The main event that has happened since I last posted was of course Christmas. Mom and Dad flew out early to beat the storm and so they came in on Christmas Eve. It took Lily no time at all to warm up to them. She had such a great time. Of course, Grandpa was on cloud 9 because he had someone to sit on his lap. He was beaming at Christmas Eve Service with Xu Hui on his lap and Marissa in the chair right next to him. Xu Hui wants to call them every day now. That is about the first thing she asks to do in the morning.
Xu Hui has been participating in an after school art class and has been having fun. I sat in on the first two sessions until Xu Hui got comfortable being there by herself. The teacher makes it so easy and is great with the kids. I think I could even draw something that looked like something when I was done. I was actually getting in to the class and was sad when Xu Hui didn't need me there anymore.
I'm off to Maryland at the end of the week. This will be my first trip away since Xu Hui has been here. It will be interesting to see how everyone does.
